Fees and Insurance Information

What is your fee?

My fee is $185 for a fifty-minute session.
I put your credit or debit card on file so payment doesn’t cut into our session time, and we don’t have to fuss with payment options at the end of each session.

I offer limited sliding scale spots on case by case basis.

Do you take insurance?

I do not currently partner with major insurance carriers. I don’t take insurance because I find that insurance companies don’t always have your best treatment and healing at heart.  If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a receipt called a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Every insurance is different so please check with your insurance company regarding reimbursement rates.

If you’d like to use out of network benefits, here are some questions you can ask your insurance company to help determine coverage they may provide:

  • Do I have out-of-network coverage for mental health (or Behavioral Health)
  • Do you cover the LCAT license (Licensed Creative Arts Therapist)?
  • What is my deductible and how much has already been met?
  • What is my out of pocket payment before my deductible is met?
  • What percentage of the fee for each visit will be covered?
  • How many mental health sessions per calendar year does my insurance plan cover?
  • How do I obtain reimbursement for therapy with an out-of-network provider?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

What if my partner doesn’t understand I need help?

Partners often struggle to understand how hard the adjustment to motherhood can be, especially when it doesn’t feel easy or joyful.  We can work on ways to talk with your partner about your experience so that they have a better understanding of how incredibly difficult this time can be.

What if I can’t find time for therapy?

The to-do list of motherhood and caregiving is tough.  Time is all of sudden a whole new commodity.  I offer flexible scheduling so that therapy can work with all of the routines you are getting accustomed to.

This appointment is about supporting you. It’s a very different feel than other newborn appointments or the many specialists you need to see when caring for your loved one. It’s a place to decompress, speak your truth, and have time for you.

What if I have to bring my baby with me?

Your little one is welcome to come if it helps you to more easily have an appointment and receive care.

What if I can't leave my loved one home alone?

I offer secure online therapy so that you can get the support you need in the comfort of your home.

I’m already a member of a support group. Is this the same?

Being a member of a support group is great, but personal therapy is different.  It’s a place just for you.  Together we can work through the hard things coming up that are specific to your life and your loved one.  You deserve individual care and support.
